The little-known tv shows that low-key changed my life
After coming across a tweet that listed underrated shows the author didn’t believe people watched, I felt inspired to create my own list.
Popular – A dramatic comedy set in a high school where rival queen bees become stepsisters. This show had my friend group in a chokehold in the early aughts. I miss the WB.
Suburgatory – It was basically “As Told by Ginger,” but with real humans. A single dad moves his daughter to a boring suburb outside of New York, and comedy ensues.
Selfie – This contemporary update of “My Fair Lady” follows a social media obsessed pharmaceutical sales rep who learns the importance of offline friendships from her incredibly handsome and boring coworker.
Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 – This is a contemporary update of the 90s movie classic “Party Girl,” where a small-town girl moves to New York and befriends a lovable scammer who’s randomly friends with James Van Der Beek.
Being Human – This British comedy horror follows a werewolf, ghost, and vampire who share an apartment and try to live a “normal” life.
If you have watched any of these shows, please reply to let me know. Sometimes I feel like I made them up.
Sometimes you just have to embrace the “stuckness”
Embrace the stuckness
Because standing still is often the best way to figure out where you go next.
Embrace the shadows
Because it’s only by experiencing the darkness that we can appreciate the light.
Embrace the imperfections
Because accepting yourself fully is what allows you to love others just as they are.
If you are in a season of transition, let me humbly say: You are my people. This year has been wobbly and confusing. But I also feel like I’ve been teetering closer and closer to clarity.
Take forward steps when you can.
Take breaks when you need to.
I believe in you.
My life’s goal is to create 1 million smiles
My mission as an artist is to create a more beautiful world by sharing uplifting content that inspires and educates.
That’s why I’ve designed Joy Bombs affirmation cards.
They’re more than just a product – they’re a message of hope and encouragement.
When you use them, you’ll be reminded that you’re not alone, and that you have the power to transform your life and the lives of others.
But this is only the beginning.
My goal is to see 1 million smiles inspired by these affirmation cards, reminding people of their power, potential, and worth.
With your help, I believe we can create a ripple effect of positivity that will make the world a better place, one smile at a time.
Preorders close this Friday. Let’s start this project with a bang.
Or if you’d like to financially support this project and a real life human artist, you can make a one-time donation
something magical
Friendly reminder: Something magical unlocks when you’re willing to love yourself just as you are right now.
Let’s talk about boundaries
When I first started learning about boundaries, I just wanted to protect myself.
I didn’t want to get hurt again…ever.
So I put up walls to shut out all the potential pain.
But in order to love – truly and fully – I had to learn that you can create and stick to your boundaries without putting up barriers that block the people that care about you.
It won’t be perfect at first. But it is possible.
You have to trust that in order to receive authentic love in all of its magnanimous forms, you have to take the risk to step outside the fortress that shuts everyone out.
