The Only Way We Survive This Is Through Joy
Let’s be real: the world is overwhelming right now.
There’s so much noise, so much fear, so much urgency pulling us in a hundred directions. And I get it—because our brains are wired that way. We are biologically programmed to remember fear. To scan for danger. To react to threats.
The problem? The tech gods know this.
And they’ve built entire platforms around keeping us in a constant state of fight or flight.
Social media was supposed to help us connect with friends and family.
Instead, it’s evolved into something that feeds on our attention—amplifying whatever sparks the strongest emotional reaction, whether it’s anger, outrage, or despair. It’s all algorithmic fuel.
And somewhere in the midst of all that chaos, we’re losing touch with our full emotional spectrum.
We’re forgetting that we’re allowed to feel something else—something lighter.
We’re forgetting that joy is just as sacred as grief.
Why I Talk About Joy So Much
People ask me why I’m obsessed with joy.
Why I call it the revolution.
And it’s because I believe, deep in my bones, that it’s the only way forward.
Joy is how we reclaim our power.
Joy is how we soften enough to stay human.
Joy is how we remember who we are when the world wants us to forget.
This moment in history—right now—is a chance to redefine the world we want to live in. We are standing at the edge of possibility. But we won’t build anything new by staying in survival mode.
We have to tap into the radical, healing, and connective power of joy.
My Healing Journey
I say this not as a concept—but as a testimony.
My own healing journey has been hard. Messy. Lonely at times.
I’ve been through burnout. I’ve been through loss. I’ve felt stuck and scared and unsure.
But the thing that pulled me through wasn’t just grit.
It was joy.
I gave myself permission to feel the pain—but also to feel the good.
To find meaning in art. To blast music and dance in the kitchen. To cook, to clean, to create.
That’s the thing no one tells you:
Joy is a muscle.
You can grow it.
You can choose it.
You can practice it—even when the world feels like it’s on fire.
